What We Do

Education Program

Sathee runs two primary schools for children living in slum area, The Banani Free Primary School is an old one, established in 1986. Another one is Mirpur Free Primary School at Mirpur established in January 2009.

1. 300 women & girls have completed their Adult Education.

2. 575 children have completed their primary education since 1986. Presently, near about 436 girls and boys are studying in our free primary school at Banani from K.G. to Grade five, At Mirpur School there have 462 students

3. 900 children have received education through’ Heard To Reach Program’ in the year 1999- 2000 & 2001- 2003.

We appointed 14 teachers for the two schools. We arranged yearly sport program & educational tour program for the children.

Heallth & Hygiene:

Free Clinic:

1. 4600 patients has treated and provided medicine (free of charge) through project clinic since 1991 to date. 2000 patients (an average) are getting treatment with medicine each year. Saturday & Wednesday from 11 am to 1 pm the patient receive service from free clinic. The patient is school children & their family members. Also provided pathological test facilities as require.

2. We provided 200 slab latrine, four tube wells among our beneficiaries, because they don’t get the facility to use covered toilets and pure drinking water.

3. Every year the E.N.T. & Eye Specialist examines all the school children.

4. Two doctors check the patients in Banani & Mirpur. Also provide free medicine as require. The clinic is open for the area’s people twice in a week.

Moms Care Program:

From October’2009 Sathee has started Moms Care Program. Through the program pregnant mothers are getting services two days in a week. Schedule for the program is Monday & Wednesday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Here one lady gynecologist check pregnant mothers condition, give advice, suggest for pathological test and provide essential drugs to them regularly. We also supply some nutritious food to those pregnant mothers. From the beginning 200 pregnant mothers has received services through the program. We like to convert the program as a family planning in future, The project also support all kinds of tests & arrange seminar on how to lake care of the new child and themselves regularly.

Skill Development (Sewing Training) Program:

Vocational Training Program: 280 persons have got the training of sewing and cutting of garments since 1991. Now about 120 girls got job in garments factory. Three of them started their own tailoring shop Others earns some by sewing the ordering dress.

The program yearly cost Tk. 2,00,000,00(Two Lac). U S $. 2578.


Economic:

Saving Group: This program from has started 1995. From the beginning members of the saving groups save money monthly as they can. After one year past they can take loan from their saving fund for small business or essential requirement. Through the program benefiting nearly 400 women and girls.

Social & Cultural Program:

Every year we arrange seminars on human rights, female rights, early marriage and Adolescent pregnancy, family planning issues for our beneficiaries. We also arrange Cultural program for our children different times.

This program yearly Cost in Tk. 1,00,000.00( One Lac). U S $. 1299.

Our administrative cost yearly is 10,50,000.00 ( Ten lac fifty thousand). U S $. 13636.

Sathee Samaj Kalyan Samity is trying to extend its social work. Moreover, the Samity wants to work with the physically handicapped people, and run a Bakery Program for 100 women. But, due to financial constrain it is not being able to do so.


Distribution of Responsibilities:

The general Secretary of the organization who acts as an Executive Director, holds the responsibilities for all activities of project implementation with assistance of the Project Manager, Teachers, Supervisor, Doctor, Nurse, Development worker, vocational training Instructor of the organization. The Project Manager supervises the activities of the staff of the project. The Project Manager prepares the progress/activities reports and maintains the accounts and documents as per the accounting principle. Apart from these, she arranges monthly staff meeting to review the project progress take plan identify problems and find out solutions.
